Laboratory

Laboratory medicine is a highly technical field. The function of the medical center’s laboratory is to provide analysis of laboratory specimens and consultation to aid in the maintenance of well-being and in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases. Laboratory tests are a very important aid for the physicians in determining diagnosis. There are hundreds of laboratory tests available to aid physicians. Testing can be performed on blood, urine, stools, and other body fluids. The most commonly used specimen is blood. Testing can be done on any age patient, from newborn to geriatric. The laboratory staff is proficient in drawing blood from all ages. The laboratory is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for outpatient services. Your physician’s office will schedule your appointment for you. All laboratory results are given to your physician. It is up to your physician to relay these results to you. We regret any delay that this may cause you but we believe it is important for your physician to discuss any interpretation of the laboratory results with you.
