SCKMC Adds New Physicians to Specialty Clinic


South Central Kansas Medical Center has partnered with two additional physician groups to provide neurosurgery and urology services through its Specialty Clinic. Chris Lothes, M.D. of Abay Neuroscience Center and A.J. Farha, M.D. of Wichita Urology Group will now see patients at the Arkansas City hospital.

SCKMC CEO Steve Perkins said, "We are pleased to expand the services available to our community. We know that many people in our area have used these two physicians or their groups."

Chris S. Lothes, M.D. is now scheduling neurosurgery clinics for the third Monday of each month at the medical center. A Neurosurgeon is trained to provide surgical interventions for Brain Tumors, Spine Trauma, Cervical and Lumbar Spine, Degenerative Spine, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.

Dr. Lothes completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas after completing his surgical internship at Parkland Hospital-Dallas. He completed his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey after completing his bachelor's degree at Rutgers University.

Abay Neuroscience Center was founded in 1986 and today is the largest neurosurgery practice in the greater Wichita metropolitan area. Ayham J. ( A.J.) Farha, M.D. is now scheduling urology clinics for the third Wednesday of each month at SCKMC. An urologist is a physician who is highly trained to treat disorders of the male and female urinary tract, as well as the male genital system. Dr.Farha has extensive experience in a wide variety of services for men, women, and children including urinary control, prostate disease, urinary stone disease and others.

Dr. Farha is Board certified by the American Board of Urology. He received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. He completed his internship and residencies in the specialties of surgery and urology at State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Farha has been in practice since 1989.
